Elton and David have trusted their old buddy - architect and designer, favorite of Hollywood stars Martyn Lawrence-Bullard - with the decoration of their American residence. The film director and the musician have always been united by the love to modern art, classical sculpture, rock'n'roll and each other. Having spent over 15 years together, the couple got tired of endless parties and receptions. With the help of a surrogate mother their son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born. Since this moment their lives became settled and level.
Later David told that Elton wanted something bright, colorful, filled with art pieces from his collection. David, being a fan of minimalism, was only thinking about comfort. Besides the interior of their new apartment could not look like Sir Elton John's houses in Venice, Windsor, Nice and Atlanta.
Interior in the style of the 70s.
The architect offered a reasonable compromise. The time of the highest Sir Elton John's success and recognition was in the 70s of the last century. This is the time when the most famous hits appeared, the most popular albums were recorded. It was the time when the musician first publicly announced about his sexual orientation. Martyn Lawrence-Bullard chose the style of the time - those glorious 70s - and did not make a mistake.
Local colors, unexpected combinations, ultimately practical residence, filled with geometric furniture items and art pieces in the spirit of the movie "Boogie Nights" - this all was much appreciated by the customers. They got interior with a character, show room apartment with a magnificent view from the living room. The designer made a decision on colors in accordance with the paintings and photos that have been collected by the musician in many years.
Elton got his passion to collecting as a child. As the only son of very busy, constantly working parents he spent much time in his room, alone with the books, records that can still be found in his mansion in Windsor. Later, when he got the opportunity to buy really expensive things, the musician surrounded himself with paintings and sculptures.
The apartment turned out incredibly great for living, so when Elton's and David's son was born, the happy parents did not move to a new place and start over but simply bought one more apartment in the same house. It is not hard to guess who got the job of decorating the apartment for the "little prince" and his nanny…
