The original building has been several times expanded and altered in the 18th and 19th centuries, nonetheless some columns, arches, main entrance and facade have remained unchanged. The part, allocated for the museum, remained in its original form and needed only cosmetic renovation. The inner patio turned into a covered pavilion and also belongs to the museum. The overall cost of the project is 17 million euros.

Bologna History Museum in Italy
Mario Bellini Architect(s) employees worked on this large project since 2003. In 2012 Bologna History Museum finally opened its door to the interested audience. It is located in one of the most historically important houses of the city, built far back in the 14th century, and occupies the first three floors.
